Index-paired launches

An index-paired launch quotes your token's pool in a Bankr index token instead of WETH. An index token is an ERC-20 backed by a basket of tokens it holds; buying it through its own pool mints new shares against the basket, and any holder can redeem shares for the basket at any time (Index tokens). Pairing with one means your token trades against that basket rather than against ETH.

Rolling out in stages

Index-paired launches open one chain at a time, and to designated wallets first. Until pairing is open on a chain for your wallet, the quote-token list shows no index rows there, and a deploy that names an index is refused with reason pairing_disabled.

Where it is available

  • Base and Robinhood Chain, on Doppler launches only. It is not available on Arbitrum, on Arc, or on any chain while it runs on Bankr Launch v3.
  • User launches only. Partner-key deploys are refused.
  • One pairing per launch: pairedIndexAddress cannot be combined with pairedTokenAddress or pairedStockAddress.

Which indexes can be picked

Every index is checked three times: when the list is built (advisory, cached for 30 seconds), when you select it (live), and again inside the deploy, before anything is created. The deploy check is the one that counts. With the current defaults an index can be paired only when:

  • its Strength — roughly the size one trade can reach in the basket's thinnest market at no more than 2 % price impact — is at least $25K, measured live on both the buy and sell side and over the last few hours. Between $25K and $50K the pick is allowed with a warning;
  • its index fee is at most 0.50 %;
  • none of its tokens is paused or unpriced, and its basket price is complete and steady (within 3 % of its trailing hour);
  • buys and sells of it are open, it is not restricted (pass-gated), and it runs on the current index version;
  • a small test buy through it goes through with at most 2 % impact.

An index that holds stocks can be picked at any hour, like any other: outside US market hours its basket is priced from 24-hour-market quotes and, on weekends and holidays, from its stocks' own on-chain pools (Index tokens). The steadiness rule above still applies, so a basket whose price is jumping after a news gap waits a few minutes.

These thresholds can change; the picker and the verdict on each row always reflect the ones in force.

Picking an index

Web. On the launch card, choose Index Tokens under Pool Pairing. The list is searchable by name, ticker or address and ranked by Strength, pickable rows first. Each row shows its Strength, a "Stocks" tag for indexes that hold stocks, an estimate of the trading cost and, when it can't be picked, the reason.

CLI. From the CLI release that adds index pairing, bankr launch quotes --chain base lists the indexes you can pick next to the other quote tokens, and bankr launch --chain base --quote <SYMBOL or address> deploys with it.

API. List the options, then send the index's address in the deploy body:

curl "https://api.bankr.bot/token-launches/quote-tokens?chain=base&include=index" \
-H "X-API-Key: bk_usr_..."
  • include=index is required. Without it the list has no index rows, so a client that doesn't send pairedIndexAddress can never pick one by mistake.
  • The API key is optional. With a valid key (X-API-Key, or Authorization: Bearer) the list reflects your wallet's access, including early access before a chain opens to everyone. Without one, or with an invalid key, you see only what is open to everyone.
  • Index rows have kind: "index", deployField: "pairedIndexAddress", a trailing strengthUsd and an advisory verdict (eligible, warn or refused). Only eligible and warn rows are worth sending; the deploy re-checks either way.
{
"address": "0x…",
"symbol": "TECH5",
"name": "Tech Five",
"kind": "index",
"isDefault": false,
"deployField": "pairedIndexAddress",
"strengthUsd": 61250,
"verdict": "eligible"
}

Then deploy with the address and the list's provider:

curl -X POST https://api.bankr.bot/token-launches/deploy \
-H "X-API-Key: bk_usr_..." \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"tokenName": "My Token", "chain": "base", "provider": "doppler", "pairedIndexAddress": "0x…"}'

A refused pairing answers 400, 409 or 503 with "code": "INDEX_PAIRING_REFUSED", a reason and a readable error. A 503 (unavailable, stale_price) is temporary and carries Retry-After; try again shortly.

Trading a paired token

  • Buying with the chain's dollar (USDC on Base, USDG on Robinhood Chain), WETH or ETH takes one transaction: it buys the index through its own pool, then your token with that index. Other input tokens are refused; swap them into one of these first.
  • Selling is the mirror image. You can also swap your token for the index directly in its pool.
  • Trading cost per side is about the Doppler launch fee (1.75 %) plus the index fee (at most 0.50 %) plus the basket's own pool fees. Every paired trade also pays the index fee to that index's fee split.
  • No size limit. An index has no mint cap, so buys of a paired token never pause because an index is "full". A very large trade is bounded only by the price bands on the basket's pools.
  • Slippage on buys protects value. On a launch's curve the last tokens of a big buy cost the most, so Bankr sets a buy's minimum to what your spend less your slippage would buy. Someone trading ahead of you can then take at most your slippage in value. On a large buy that minimum sits closer to the estimate than your slippage setting, and the app's quote warns you (a one-tap quick buy shows the warning as the buy goes out); if the price moves past it, the buy fails instead of filling worse.
  • Stock indexes trade at any hour. Outside US market hours each stock leg fills within the stock's off-hours price band, with no size limit, and waits only while none of the stock's off-hours prices (24-hour-market quotes, or the weekend average of its pools) is fresh. An index holding a stock marked "Trades during NYSE hours only" (its pools are too thin for the weekend average and it has no 24-hour-market quote yet) trades only in the US market session.
  • If the index's buys are paused, paired buys stop and sells continue. If one of its tokens is paused or its price is stale, paired buys and sells both stop. You can still swap your token for the index directly in its pool and redeem the index for its basket; redeeming can't be paused.
  • Not available for paired tokens: limit and stop orders, orders placed from external wallets, cross-chain buys, swap-and-send to another address, and Glidepath.
  • Discover and the Trade page show prices in USD, using the index's on-chain basket value.

Restricted regions

Tokenized stocks are region-restricted on Bankr. Swapping your token for an index that holds stocks counts as buying that index, so a wallet in a restricted region (or without a verified location) can't take that direct route on Bankr. It exits by selling your token for USDC, USDG, WETH or ETH instead. Redeeming an index and claiming fees are never region-gated.

Fees

The pool's quote side is the index, so fees that are paid in the quote token arrive as index tokens:

  • With the default fee mode, the creator's pool fees are paid in kind: your token plus the index.
  • With quoteOnlyFees, all creator fees arrive in the index.
  • Claim them as for any launch (Claiming Fees). Claimed index tokens can be held, sold for USDC, USDG or WETH, or redeemed for the basket; redeeming an index that holds stocks pays out tokenized stocks.

Trading volume in index-paired pools is not eligible for the weekly developer rebate.
